Stremio does not find streams by itself. Torrent addons for Stremio do that job: they search torrent indexes and show the results inside the app. Torrentio is the best known, but there are good alternatives, especially for people who use a debrid service. Here is how they compare.
Quick comparison
| Addon | Works without debrid? | Best for | Setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Torrentio | Yes (P2P); debrid optional | Most users; largest provider list | Easy |
| Torrentio Lite | Yes | Short, simple result lists | Easiest |
| Comet | Mostly used with debrid | Fast, lightweight results for debrid users | Easy |
| MediaFusion | Usually paired with debrid | Regional content and detailed filters | Medium |
| AIOStreams | Needs a debrid or Usenet provider in most setups | Merging several addons into one list | Advanced |
| Jackettio | Needs Jackett indexers and debrid | People who run their own indexers | Advanced |
1. Torrentio
Torrentio searches about 25 providers, including dedicated anime and regional providers. It works free in P2P mode and supports ten debrid services. Its configure page lets you control sorting, language, quality filters and file size. Start with our install guide and the best Torrentio settings.
Pros: free, huge source list, easy setup. Cons: shared public service, so it can slow down or go offline. Check it with our status checker.
2. Torrentio Lite
A preconfigured version of Torrentio: it uses the general and anime providers, hides Cam and Screener releases and shows one result per quality. It's ideal on TVs where long lists are hard to scroll. Read our Torrentio Lite vs Torrentio comparison.
3. Comet
Comet is a lightweight stream addon built for debrid users. It queries fewer sources very quickly and can proxy streams. If you already pay for a debrid service and want fast results, it's a popular second addon.
4. MediaFusion
MediaFusion is highly configurable, with detailed filters and strong regional content. It's a good pick if you watch a lot of non-English content and want fine control over results. Most people use it with a debrid service.
5. AIOStreams
AIOStreams queries several stream addons at once and merges everything into one clean list. It's powerful but takes longer to set up, and it is meant for people with a debrid or Usenet provider.
6. Jackettio
Jackettio connects Stremio to your own Jackett indexers and a debrid service. It suits advanced users who already run Jackett or a self-hosted setup.
How to choose the right addon
- No debrid, just want it to work: Torrentio (or Torrentio Lite for shorter lists).
- Have Real-Debrid or another debrid: Torrentio with debrid, plus Comet or MediaFusion as a backup. See our Real-Debrid setup guide.
- Want everything in one list: AIOStreams.
- Run your own indexers: Jackettio.
How to install any Stremio addon
- Open the addon's official configure page.
- Choose your settings and click Install, or copy its manifest link.
- Confirm in Stremio, or paste the link in the Add-ons search box.
Use only the official link from each project. Torrentio's developer has asked other services not to scrape or re-host Torrentio, so always use torrentio.strem.fun.
Don't install too many stream addons
Every stream addon is queried each time you open a title. Two or three good addons are faster and easier to manage than ten. Remove addons you no longer use from Add-ons › Installed.
All of these are third-party addons. They don't host files, but many torrents are shared without permission. Only stream content you have the right to watch. Read our guide on whether Torrentio is safe and legal.
