You can use the Torrentio addon on a Firestick or any Amazon Fire TV device through the Stremio app. The trick is to install Stremio on the TV and add Torrentio from your phone, so you never have to type a long link with the remote.
What you need
- A Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube or Fire TV smart TV.
- A free Stremio account.
- A phone or computer for the easy setup (optional, but much faster).
Step 1: Install Stremio on your Firestick
Option A: Amazon Appstore (easiest)
The official Stremio app has been listed in the Amazon Appstore for Fire TV since late 2025. On your Fire TV home screen, open Find › Search, type Stremio, select the app and choose Get or Download.
Option B: Official download page (if Stremio isn't listed in your region)
- Install the free Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore.
- Go to Settings › My Fire TV › Developer options and allow Downloader to install unknown apps.
- Open Downloader, type stremio.com/downloads and download the Android TV version.
- Install it, then turn the unknown-apps setting off again.
Only download Stremio from the Amazon Appstore or stremio.com. Never install a “Torrentio APK”. Torrentio is an addon, not an app, and fake APKs can contain malware.
Step 2: Log in to Stremio
Open Stremio on the Fire TV and sign in with the same account you use on your phone or PC. This is what makes the addon sync work.
Step 3: Add Torrentio from your phone (the easy way)
- On your phone or computer, open torrentio.strem.fun/configure.
- Choose your settings (see the Fire TV tips below) and tap Install.
- Confirm in the Stremio app on that device.
- Restart Stremio on the Fire TV. Torrentio now appears automatically.
Alternative: add Torrentio directly on the Fire TV
In Stremio on the TV, open Add-ons › Community, search for Torrentio and select Install. You can also paste the link https://torrentio.strem.fun/manifest.json into the Add-ons search box. Our full install guide shows every method.
Best Torrentio settings for Firestick
| Device | Recommended settings |
|---|---|
| Fire TV Stick Lite / older sticks | Exclude 4k, BluRay REMUX, Dolby Vision, Cam and Screener. Set a size limit of about 4GB. |
| Fire TV Stick 4K / 4K Max / Cube | Keep 4K if your TV supports it. Exclude Cam and Screener. A debrid service gives the smoothest 4K playback. |
For every option explained, read our Torrentio configure guide.
How to stop buffering on Fire TV
- Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi, or an Ethernet adapter for the Fire TV.
- Pick 1080p or 720p results with more seeders.
- Clear Stremio's cache: Settings › Applications › Manage installed applications › Stremio › Clear cache.
- Close apps running in the background and restart the Fire TV now and then.
- For the best stability, connect a debrid service. See our Real-Debrid guide.
Common Firestick problems

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Stremio available on the Amazon Appstore?
Yes. The official Stremio app has been listed in the Amazon Appstore for Fire TV since late 2025, although availability can depend on your region.
Do I need the Downloader app?
Only if Stremio is not listed in the Appstore in your country. Then you can download the Android TV version from stremio.com with Downloader.
Can a Firestick play 4K Torrentio streams?
4K models such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max can, if your TV supports 4K. Older sticks work best with 1080p, and debrid gives the smoothest 4K playback.
Do I have to type the Torrentio link with the remote?
No. Install Torrentio on your phone or computer with the same Stremio account, and it syncs to the Fire TV.
Does Torrentio work on Fire TV without debrid?
Yes. Free P2P mode works on Fire TV, but speed depends on seeders. Debrid is optional.
